About Bridge & Block Marine

In marine spares, certainty is the product.

Bridge & Block Marine sources certified engine components and bridge electronics for ship owners, managers and repair yards — verified before quotation, delivered to a named port, documented end to end. We work where sourcing gets difficult: superseded part numbers, discontinued components, engines the makers have long since moved on from. We are who a superintendent calls when the number in the manual no longer exists — and who they call again for the routine order the following month, handled at the same speed and to the same standard.

There's one hour that costs real money: the one a vessel spends alongside, waiting on a part.

Who we are

Most of what goes wrong on a ship is not dramatic. It's a liner that has scored, an injector that won't hold pressure, a separator that has started throwing oil. The part is known, the fix is known, and the only real question is how long it takes somebody to find the right component and prove it's the right one.

That question is our entire business. We are a specialist sourcing company working across marine diesel engine spares and Type-Approved bridge electronics, and we exist because the answer to it is too often three days, four emails, and a quote for something that doesn't fit.

We chose to go narrow. Five families of engine parts, a defined set of engine makers, and one commitment we hold above everything else: a real answer within twelve hours. Narrow is why we're quick — quick is what a vessel alongside is actually buying.

What we believe

01

Fast and honest wins

A fast honest answer beats a slow hopeful one. If we can cover your requirement, you'll know today, with a price and a date you can plan around. If we can't, you'll know that today too. Nobody's week should be spent waiting on a quote that was never coming.

02

Certification matters

A component without valid approval behind it isn't a cheaper option — it's a liability sitting inside your engine, waiting for a survey. We verify approval and material certification before we quote, and the documents come with the price, not after the order.

03

Nameplates tell the truth

Manuals get superseded, sister ships diverge, and refits go unrecorded. We work from the maker's nameplate and the manual reference, every time. It costs one extra message at the start and it prevents the conversation nobody wants at the end.

04

Long-term trust

We'd rather keep you than win once. We are not interested in a single transaction at a good margin. We'd rather be the number a superintendent calls the next four times, which means telling you when a part is available cheaper elsewhere, and telling you when we're not the right people for the job.

05

Depth before breadth

We would rather be genuinely expert across five families of parts than vaguely present across fifty. Our coverage widens one family at a time, and only once we can answer for it as well as we answer for the rest.

How we work

1
Send the clue

Send us a part number, or a photograph of the nameplate and a description of what's failed. Either is enough to begin.

2
We identify the exact part

We identify exactly what the part is, including where a number has been superseded once or twice since the manual was printed, and we tell you what changed between the original and the current equivalent. We confirm the certification behind every option — classification-society Approval of Manufacturers and material certificates for engine components, current Type Approval for electronics — and we check it against the issuing register rather than taking a supplier's word.

3
You see the options clearly

Then you get a quote: price, origin, lead time, certification, and delivery to a named port. Where there's a genuine trade-off between cost and speed, you see both routes and choose for yourself. Where an alternative differs from the original in material or dimension, we say so plainly and in writing, because finding out at fitting is the worst possible moment.

4
Everything stays documented

Everything is documented — certificates, origin, revisions, dates. Vessels change hands and superintendents change jobs. Two years from now, during a survey, someone will need to know where that part came from. That record is part of what you're buying.

What we won't do

We won't quote a part we can't certify.
We won't present an aftermarket component as OEM-supplied, or let the distinction stay vague.
We won't offer a substitution without telling you exactly how it differs from the original.
We won't sit on an enquiry we can't fulfil. You'll hear a clear no the same day, rather than a maybe that costs you a week.
We won't pass your vessel details, fleet information or commercial terms to anyone who doesn't need them to complete your order.

Who we work with

Our suppliers are chosen on three things: whether they hold genuine approval for what they make or stock, whether they can quote quickly enough to protect our turnaround, and whether they deal straight when something goes wrong — because everything is fine until a shipment is short or a certificate doesn't match, and that is when you learn who you're actually working with.

We check approvals ourselves rather than accepting a claim. We keep a written record of what was confirmed and when. And we work only with people whose standards we'd be comfortable standing behind, because when we put a supplier in front of a customer, our name goes on it.

Marine engine spares

Part families

Cylinder components — liners, rings, crowns, covers. Fuel injection — injectors, nozzles, HP pipes, pumps, plungers and barrels. Valves — exhaust and inlet valves, seats, spindles, cages. Turbocharger consumables — bearings, nozzle rings and cartridges for Accelleron/ABB (VTR, TPL, TPS), Mitsubishi MET and Napier. Separator parts — bowl discs, seal kits and gravity discs for Alfa Laval and GEA Westfalia.

Bridge radar

Bridge electronics

Radar, AIS, ECDIS and GMDSS equipment carrying current SOLAS-linked Type Approval, verified before it's offered.

Certification

Certification

We work to the standards of DNV, Lloyd's Register, ABS, Bureau Veritas, ClassNK and RINA.

We handle everyday, readily available items and hard-to-find legacy components with the same turnaround. The difficult end is where we're most useful — but a routine order gets the same twelve hours and the same paperwork.
